Get Paid Early Product Terms

General Term

This is a credit agreement between Monese Limited (we call ourselves ‘us’ and ‘we’ in these terms) and anyone who wants to use Get Paid Early (who we’ll refer to as ‘you’ in these terms).

Eligibility - Who can use Get Paid Early?

This feature is available to you only if:

  • You are a Monese customer with a Monese GBP account;
  • You are based in the UK;
  • You receive regular payments directly into your Monese GBP account via BACS. In most cases this would be salary payments but can also be any credits you receive from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (‘HMRC’) and, the Department for Work and Pensions (‘DWP’) etc.; and
  • You are not currently subject to any form of bankruptcy proceedings (or similar).

Consent

You agree that if you use this feature, you are borrowing an amount from us up to the value of your incoming payment due to arrive in your Monese GBP account in the next working day, and you will repay this on the day the future payment is due to be received.

How does it work?

Taking an advance

You will be able to borrow an amount from us up to the value of the BACS payment that will be credited to your Monese GBP account and which is due to be paid to you on the next working day. Our notification in the Monese app sets out the detail of this payment.

The amount you can borrow is subject to a maximum cap of [£1,000], and you can only borrow an amount equal to the value of the incoming payment, not a lesser amount – our notification in the Monese app about this offer sets out how much you can borrow in this instance.

You will only be able to accept the loan offer prior to receiving the incoming payment; once you have received incoming payment, you cannot borrow against that payment.

If you accept the offer and these terms via the Monese app, we will arrange for the loan amount to be credited to your Monese GBP account immediately as a lump sum, and you will be able to use the balance from that point in the same way you use other funds in your Monese GBP account.

Repaying an advance

The advance is repayable on the day the relevant payment is due to be credited to your Monese GBP account – this is usually the next working day. There will be a single repayment of the full advance amount.

Repayment on your advance will normally be taken automatically from your account as soon as the payment arrives the next working day.

By accepting the loan offer, you agree that we may instruct the provider of your Monese GBP account (PrePay Technologies Ltd) on your behalf to pay the payment amount to us instead of making it available to use in your Monese GBP account. You will not need to make any additional payments or take any additional steps where the repayment is made in this manner.

If the payment does not arrive for any reason (for example, it gets recalled or there is some technical issue in making the payment), you give Monese permission to recover this money directly from your Monese GBP account(s) on the day the payment was originally due to arrive, and agree to us submitting a payment instruction to the provider of your Monese GBP account to effect this.

In the event your Monese GBP account does not have sufficient funds to make the repayment in this manner, we will contact you to instruct you how to make the repayment and you agree to follow such instructions.

Interest charges

Monese will not charge you any interest for using this feature.

However, if you miss a different recurring payment from your Monese GBP account as a result of taking this advance and/or making a repayment under it, Monese will have no liability for any additional charges, interests, or debt recovery process the recipient of any recurring payment, any third party and/or Prepay Technologies Ltd might want to impose as a result of this.

Will using Get Paid Early affect my credit score?

No. We will not carry out a credit search on you for this product and therefore this will not affect your credit rating. More information about reporting to credit reference agencies can be found in our Privacy Notice.

How do I make a complaint?

You can make a complaint to our Customer Services through your Monese App or by emailing us at complaints@monese.com. Please be advised that the provision of the Get Paid Early Product is not regulated or authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. This agreement will be governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless you’re a resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case the laws of the country you live in the United Kingdom will apply. Any disputes in relation to this agreement will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, unless you’re a resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case it’ll be dealt with by the courts of the country in the United Kingdom you live in.
