Marketing and communications - Making use of your data at Monese

Recent legislation concerning data privacy called GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) has put the spotlight on how companies, ours included, are permitted to use your personal information - as well as providing guidelines as to what we need to tell you about that use.

At Monese, your personal details, including your contact details, are an important factor in providing you with a continued quality of our service.

This is because, as a banking product, part of that service depends on sending regular communications to you in order to provide you with oversight on your account activity. This might be an account activation email or notification of a received payment.

We do however also use your details for considered marketing purposes, as well as a means of informing the improvement of our app's user experience.

For example, we frequently invite users to participate in user testing sessions and these have proved to be invaluable in helping us calibrate the design of the Monese app to better suit the needs of our customers.

In addition, we often send out user surveys. These provide us with valuable information as to how people prefer to use our services and likewise help use improve the app on a continuous basis.

Finally, we like to send out more general marketing communications as means of keeping you informed about our product. This includes announcements and news about our latest in-app features that we hope you find to be of use.

In response to this new regulation, we've updated our privacy policy which you can review here:

Our revised policy explains how you can make choices about your personal data, and the measures we've put in place to keep it secure. To make the policy easier to understand we've used plain language reformatted with active links, so you can quickly find the information that matters most to you.

Our underlying commitments to safeguarding our customer's privacy remains the same and we look forward to continue providing a world-class next-generation banking service.
