Get your salary paid into your Monese account

One of the easiest ways to make sure you always have money in your Monese account is by getting your salary paid right into it. In this blog post, we’ll go through how to share your account details with your employer, so you can rest assured your wages will land right in your account each time.

Share your account details

You can easily copy and share your account details with your employer straight from your Monese app. These details include information like your name, account number and any other necessary info.

Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Open your app and head to the ‘Details’ section on your home screen (under your balance).

Step 2: Tap the ‘Share’ button, and you’ll be able to share the details right away or even export a PDF of your account details, to send over email or any other messaging app.

That’s it! With these details, your employer should have everything they need to pay your salary regularly into your Monese account.

How long will it take for my salary to land in my account?

Employers usually submit salaries with enough time for processing, so you can count on your salary landing in your account on time. In the UK, for example, we accept all common payment methods. Here are the typical processing times:

  • BACS payments — most commonly used for paying salaries and wages; these take 3 working days to clear
  • CHAPS payments — also widely used for salary and wages; these arrive on the same day if sent before 2pm, UK time
  • UK Faster Payments — the fastest payment method between UK accounts; these payments usually arrive in your account instantly

If you have an EUR account and you’re getting paid in euros, you’ll need to receive a SEPA payment, which usually clears within one working day (but can sometimes take up to 3 working days). If, for any reason, your employer refuses to accept your Monese IBAN for euro-to-euro payments, read our blog post on IBAN discrimination for advice on what to do.

If you’re getting your salary in RON and have a RON account, you'll be able to receive a local bank transfer from your employer thanks to our fully localised Romanian account numbers. Transfers usually arrive within 1 working day.

As soon as the money is in your account, we’ll send you a notification letting know you’ve been paid! 🎉
