If one of your goals this year is to get control over your money, our app can help you do just that. From useful budgeting tools, virtual cards to savings pots and much more, with Monese, you can manage your accounts straight from the palm of your hand.

So whether you’re just discovering Monese or have been with us for a while, we’re here to remind you of just a few of the features that’ll help you get a handle on your finances.

Receive your salary in your Monese account

Getting your salary paid into your Monese account is the first step to getting a grip on your finances. If you know you get paid regularly, you can start planning for what income you know you’ll have each month and exactly how much you have to work with. This will then make budgeting and sorting your money even easier.

Budget and monitor your spending

Spending Overview 1

Once you’ve subtracted your essentials such as your rent or mortgage, groceries, utilities, transport and so on, you can quickly give yourself a budget for whatever you have left over. With Monese, you can set up a monthly or weekly budget that you can adjust at any time. Keep an eye on your spending with our Spending Overview feature, which neatly categorises your expenses into 15 different lifestyle categories.

Pay with your Monese card (physical or virtual)

When you open a Monese account, you can order your very own shiny contactless Mastercard debit card for all your in-store and online shopping needs or worldwide ATM withdrawals. You can add your Monese card to Apple Pay or Google Pay to pay quickly and securely — no need for a physical card. Or create a virtual card right in your app for an extra layer of security when you make transactions in-store or online. Your Monese virtual card is also linkable to Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Set up your savings pots

To help you achieve your financial goals in 2021, one of our top tips is to create savings pots to help you keep your money separate from everyday spending.

With Monese, you can create up to 10 different pots to help you save for more than one thing at a time. Give each pot a target amount plus a unique name like new laptop, emergency fund, new cellphone or post-lockdown vacation to help keep you focused and on track. You can even round up transactions and multiply them by up to 10 — send spare change to your pot and multiply to help you reach your goals even faster!

Easily set up Direct Debits

Direct Debits 1920x1080

With Monese, you can effortlessly set up Direct Debits, so you don’t have to worry about a missed bill or payment ever again. Just share your Monese account number and sort cord with your service provider, request the date you’d like the payment to go out, and your goods provider will take care of the rest. Set it and forget it!

Make Recurring Payments

Similarly, Recurring Payments can help you never to forget to pay your landlord or even send money to a savings pot. With Monese, you can manage and cancel these at any time right from your app. Our integrated notifications will remind you when you have a Recurring Payment coming up, so you have time to top up your account if you need to, and there are no surprises.

Control joint spending

JA visual-2

With Monese, you can open a joint account with a partner, roommate, friend or family member to help you manage any shared expenses together.

You’ll each get one of our rose gold contactless Mastercard debit cards and share one account number. This means you can both get your salaries paid directly into the account, set up direct debits and manage other payments and bills together. Joint accounts also share the same balance and allowances, plus create up to 10 savings pots so you can save together too!

We’re always working on building upon these features and creating even more useful tools to help you get a grasp on your finances and keep you in control. As always, we’re open to hearing your thoughts or any ideas you may have to improve our product to make money management even easier.
