How to send money to Bulgaria

We understand how important it is to stay in touch with relatives to feel close to home when you’re abroad. That’s why we’ve fully localised our app in Bulgarian! Our Support team speaks Bulgarian, and our transfers to Bulgaria in Bulgarian lev (BGN) are simple, cheap and fast.

Here’s what you need to do when sending money to the Eastern European country:

Step 1: Go to the Pay section of the Monese app.

Step 2: Add a new payee (you’ll need their full name and account number). This is also where you’ll choose the currency in which you want to transfer money (in this case, BGN or Bulgarian lev).

Step 3: Enter the amount you wish to send.

Step 4: Review and confirm the details to send the payment.

That’s it! The recipient should receive the transfer in up to three business days; however, please bear in mind this could also depend on the receiving bank’s processing times, alongside any additional checks we might have to make.
