Put some money aside with Monese Pots

As part of our growing range of money management tools, this month we’ve released Monese Pots. Monese is all about giving you the financial freedom to thrive anywhere, and so we designed Pots to be flexible and multi-faceted – enabling you save for whatever life goal you can think of, big or small. Whether you’re saving for a new gadget, your dream holiday, or a gift for that special someone in your life, Pots enable you to create a designated place to hold the money until you need it. These don't offer interest, but they do keep your savings separate from your day-to-day spending, which should make it easier for you to reach your saving goals sooner. And, for those of you who aren’t in the habit of actively saving, we’ve built in a way to automatically add money to it – allowing you to set some money aside without moving a muscle. Simply create a scheduled payment and the app will do it for you!

How to get started

Setting up Pots is easy. Open your account list from the home screen, tap ‘Add account’ and then ‘Pot’. You can set up one Pot for each of your accounts (that includes Business accounts). Once your Pot has been created, it’ll show up in your account list screen.

You can save to your new Pot at any time by opening your personal account’s Payment screen, where you’ll find it at the top of your ‘Ready to pay’ list. Then, simply type in the amount you’d like to transfer (there’s no minimum amount required), tap ‘Pay’, and you’re done!

And if you ever need to withdraw funds from your Pot, just select it from the Account list and tap the ‘Pay’ icon. Enter the withdrawal amount, and it’ll find its way into your current account immediately.

We’ll be adding more features to Pots in the coming months – watch this space! In the meantime, we hope Monese Pots goes some way in further enabling you to make the most of your money, whatever you might be saving for.
