Many people across the world are living far from their loved ones, whether for work, studies or all sorts of other reasons. But no matter how far apart, relatives still want to feel close to their kin, especially during times of financial need. So we make it easy to receive money from outside of Europe right into your app.
Receiving money from outside the UK or EEA
Family and friends from all over can top up your account. Just remember that your Monese account can only receive GBP, EUR or RON. If their account is in a different currency, the sender will need to convert the money into one of these currencies and make sure to include your Monese ID as a reference when they make the payment, so the money reaches your account without a hitch. You can find your Monese ID right in the app under ‘Account details’.
For full international bank transfer details, tap on ‘Add money’ on your home screen and select ‘Bank transfer’. From here, select the country you’re planning to receive money from, and you’ll have all the information the sender will need to make a payment. This includes the account name, IBAN and SWIFT/BIC. You’ll even have the option to share these details with the sender right from your app.

Remember, transfer times depend on the sending bank. The good news is that we don’t charge any fees for receiving payments, but keep in mind that the sending bank may charge for transfers.
