Android users, rejoice – Google Pay is now available for Monese cards in 11 more countries across Europe.
March 2020 update: It's now available in three more: Croatia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Google Pay is the fast, simple way to pay in millions of places – on sites, in apps, and in stores. It brings together everything you need at the checkout and protects your payment information with multiple layers of security (more on that later).
You can now add your Monese cards to Google Pay if you live in one of the following countries:
🇨🇿 Czech Republic
🇬🇧 United Kingdom
With Google Pay, there’s no need to dig around for your cards – you can pay quickly and easily with the device that’s already in your hand.
Google Pay works at millions of places around the world, from retail stores to corner shops. Use it anywhere contactless payments are accepted – just look for the contactless symbol. All you need to do is wake up your Android phone and hold it near the terminal until you see a check mark. You don’t even need to open the app.
You can also use it to pay in apps and on the web, wherever Google Pay is accepted. Just choose Google Pay at checkout, confirm your purchase and then you’re good to go.
And you’ll still get all the great features your Monese cards come with, including our generous fee-free allowances – so you can spend abroad without having to worry about hidden fees. You can find out more about our pricing plans here.
Google Pay protects your payment info with multiple layers of security, using one of the world’s most advanced security infrastructures to help keep your account safe.
Google Pay doesn’t send your actual card number with your payment. Instead, an encrypted virtual account number (also called a token) is used to represent your information – so your real card details stay safe. And if your phone ever gets lost or stolen, you can lock and erase it with Find My Device.
Adding your Monese cards to Google Pay is fast and hassle-free. You can follow these easy steps:
To pay in stores with Google Pay, your Android phone must work with NFC (near-field communication). You might also have to manually turn on the NFC feature to get it working – you can find out more here.
We’re planning to add support for more countries soon – but in the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Support team!
