Collect Avios when you refer a friend

Earlier this year we joined forces with Avios to seamlessly link the popular reward currency with your Monese account – and today we’re excited to announce the latest result of our partnership. You may already know that you can link your British Airways Executive Club account to effortlessly track and manage your Avios balance, straight from your Monese app – but now we’ve taken it one step further...

Collect Avios for referring your friends

When redeeming Avios, you can get rewards on flights, upgrades, hotel stays, travel experiences, or even cases of champagne. If you’d rather collect Avios instead of getting a cash bonus, you can now choose to do so when you invite someone to join Monese.

The number of Avios you collect from a referral will depend on the Monese plan you’re currently using:

• if you’re on Premium, you’ll get a whopping 1,500 Avios
• on Plus you’ll get 750
• and on Starter you’ll get 250

So if you’re on our Premium Plan and you introduce just five friends to Monese, you could collect enough Avios to book a flight to Barcelona! (This would be one-way, peak, economy class, and subject to availability.) The recipients meanwhile will each get to enjoy a cash bonus (and get their first cards for free).

How it works

Make sure you have the latest version of the Monese app, and that you’ve already linked your account with British Airways Executive Club.

Then head over to the ‘Earn’ section of the app, where you can now choose whether to collect Avios or a cash bonus. Just keep in mind that the app will remember this selection, which will apply whenever someone completes the steps – but you can always switch it back.

Remember, each friend you invite has to complete all the steps before you can both get the bonus – right now this means they’ll need to open their Monese account and complete their first card transaction. You can always find the most up-to-date info here!
